With almost 80 million people in America suffering from pain, it’s important to know when you need to have a pain management program in place so that you may continue with your life as normal as possible.
There are two types of pain classifications, known as acute and chronic pain. Pain management is necessary for both types of pain to keep them from getting any worse and possibly ruining the rest of your life.
The first, known as acute pain, results from an injury or surgery and will eventually go away as your body heals, but you will still be able to manage the pain during this time to keep you more comfortable. If you ignore the acute pain you are suffering from it could develop into the second classification of chronic pain, which is the more extreme of the two types of pain and lasts much longer.
